OREANDA-NEWS  On 19 December was announced, that the Poltava ore mining and enrichment plant (PGOK) reached agreement with the AvtoKrAZ holding company (KRAZ) on purchase of 50 KrAZ trucks of various types in 2009.

The Poltava ore mining and enrichment plant"s Board Chairman Viktor Lotous announced this to journalists on December 16.

"The age of a significant number of the equipment used at the Poltava ore mining and enrichment plant is 30 years. They are physically worn. We plan to replace the old automobiles with automobiles that are more economical and reliable," Lotous said.

According to him, the Poltava ore mining and enrichment plant needs trucks with chassis (for use to operate cranes), tankers (for transporting technical water for drilling installations), etc.

Kremenchuk automobile plant increased production of KrAZ automobiles by 721 or 20.7% to 4,206 in 2007, compared with 2006.

AvtoKrAZ specializes in production of 28 base models of dump trucks for opencast mines, timber trucks, tractor trucks, automobiles with enhanced maneuverability for the army, oil and gas mining equipment, and over 400 automobile modifications.

The Poltava ore mining and enrichment plant increased production of ore pellets by 6.1% or 522,000 tons to 9,072,000 tons in 2007, compared with 2006.

Ferrexpo AG (Switzerland), which owns over 85% of the shares in the Poltava ore mining and enrichment plant, estimates the reserves of iron ore at the Poltava ore mining and enrichment plant"s Horyshne-Plavnynsky and Lavrykivskyi ore deposits at 3.7 billion tons.

The Finance and Credit bank group, which is owned by Kostiantyn and Oleh Zhevaho, controls the Poltava ore plant through Ferrexpo AG.
