OREANDA-NEWS. December 19, 2008. Belarus and Turkey have coordinated a plan of actions till 2010 on the development of links in foreign trade, investments and contracted services.

The document was signed by Minister of State for Foreign Trade Kurshad Tuzmen and Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Martynov who is staying in Ankara on a working visit, it was learnt from the Foreign Ministry press service.

On December 16, Sergei Martynov met up with President of Turkey Abdullah Gul, held talks with Minister of State for Foreign Trade Kurshad Tuzmen, Minister of State for Religious Affairs, International Technical and Cultural Cooperation Mustafa Sait Yazeceoglu, Foreign Minister Ali Babacan, Minister of Culture and Tourism Erturul Gunay as well as with the leaders of the Belarus-Turkey inter-parliamentary friendship group in the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey.

The negotiations focused on a thorough exchange of opinions on the prospects of the developing bilateral relations and Belarus-Turkey growing multilateral cooperation. The sides highlighted the expansion of the investment cooperation between the two countries.

As a Co-Chairman, Sergei Martynov took part in the 6th session of the Joint Intergovernmental Belarus-Turkey Economic Commission. The meeting ended with signing a final protocol which is set to strengthen Belarus-Turkey relations in trade and economy within the next two years.
