OREANDA-NEWS. On 22 December 2008 was announced, that Belarus’ industrial output rose 12.7% on the year in January-November to 118.9 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with the National Statistics Committee.

In November, industrial output fell 13.8% month-on-month, but went up 4.1% year-on-year, that is, compared to November 2007.

Engineering and metalworking companies’ output rose 11.5% on the year in the period to 24.087 trillion rubles. The output of fuel companies went up 11.3% on the year in January-November to 26.331 trillion rubles.

Chemical and petrochemical companies’ production increased 8% to 14.505 trillion rubles, and ferrous metallurgy companies’ output rose 7.1% to 4.938 trillion rubles. Electrical power companies’ output increased 7.5% on the year to 6.307 trillion rubles.

Construction materials companies’ output rose 11.8% on the year to 4.341 trillion rubles, and woodworking and pulp-and-paper companies’ production amounted to 3.471 trillion rubles, up 10.5% on the year in January-November.

Belarus’ light industry output was up 1.3% to 3.6 trillion rubles, while food industry’s output went up 9% to 14.748 trillion rubles.

Return on sales amounted to 17.3% in January-October 2008, up from 13.2% in January-October 2007.

There were 284 loss-making manufacturers in the period, with net losses estimated at 302.3 billion rubles.

Net profit of Belarus’ industrial companies rose 100% on the year to 8.3 trillion rubles in effective prices in January-October 2008 with producer price index (PPI) rising 14.1% in the period.
