OREANDA-NEWS. On December 19, 2008 President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No 689 “On Some Measures to Improve the Control and Supervision Activities in the Republic of Belarus”, reported the Official website http://president.gov.by

At present, in pursuance of presidential directions, a large-scale work has been under way towards liberalizing all spheres of business activity.

Considering numerous complaints from economic entities about the impossibility to work properly because of a large number of inspections, lack of coordination between the watchdog agencies in holding them, the holding of inspections on formal grounds and at the discretion of the watchdog agencies, the Head of State has taken a decision to suspend the control and supervision over the activity of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs as carried out in the form of inspections (audits).

All the inspections (audits) that are now in progress and have been registered in the inspections (audits) registry are to be completed within 14 days.

The holding of inspections (audist) has been suspended until a special Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus is issued, specifying the uniform procedure of holding control and supervision activities in the country, and helping streamline and reduce the number of inspections of economic entities. This document is to be drafted within six months.
