OREANDA-NEWS. On December 17, 2008 VTB’s delegation headed by Gennady Soldatenkov, Deputy Chairman, visited Yekaterinburg, reported the press-centre of VTB.

During the visit Gennady Soldatenkov held working meetings with Viktor Koksharov, Head of the Sverdlovsk Region Government, Mikhail Maksimov, the regional Minister of Economy and Labour, Anatoly Gredin, the regional Minister of Industry and Science, Sergey Sorvin, Head of the Chief Directorate of the Bank of Russia in the Sverdlovsk Region, and Arkady Chernetsky, the Mayor of Yekaterinburg.

The Parties discussed the implementation of Cooperation agreement signed between the Bank and the Sverdlovsk Region Government signed in August 2004. The Agreement is aimed at developing socially significant sectors of economy and creating conditions for increasing investment potential of the region.

At the meeting Gennady Soldatenkov noted that, despite the serious economic situation, VTB with the support of the regional administration would enhance funding to the enterprises of the Sverdlovsk Region, which is traditionally one of the priority regions for extending VTB’s business. VTB is focused on participating in economic development of the region and supporting major enterprises and industries.

In September and November 2008, the Bank provided the regional enterprise with more than RUB 27.6 billion, including RUB 3.85 billion to medium-size companies and RUB 944 million to small businesses. The funds were channeled to such enterprises as Ural Airlines, Uralvagonzavod, Plant Venta, Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works (NTMK), Stalingrad Tractor Plant, Sinarsky Trubny Zavod, Plant Svyatogor, Uralelectromed, Sredneuralsky Medeplavilny Zavod, Solikamsky Magnievy Zavod and Magnum.

Cooperation between JSC VTB Bank and the Administration of the Sverdlovsk Region and regional enterprises started 9 years ago when VTB opened its Branch in Yekaterinburg. Today, 26 outlets of VTB Group (JSC VTB Bank, VTB 24(JSC) and OJSC VTB North-West) operate in the region.

Nowadays, VTB Branch sub-offices successfully operate in Nizhni Tagil, Serov and Novouralsk. The customer base comprises over 2,000 corporate customers, representing all business spheres. After implementing a new sales model the branch’s loan portfolio of regional customers increased almost three times in 2008. The agregate loan portfolio has more than doubled over the first nine months of 2008.

VTB Branch in Yekaterinburg finances the leading enterprises of the Ural Federal Constituency, such as OJSC UGMK-Holding (reconstruction of Sredneuralsky medeplavilny zavod, chemical and metallurgical complex; Metallurgical Plant named after A.K.Serov, electromedeplavilny workshop); TMK Group of companies (upgrading of such enterprises as Stalingrad Tractor Plant, Sinarsky Trubny Zavod and TMK-KPW.

The Branch also contributes to medium business development. It finances the construction of the Sverdlovsk Region enterprises, in particular, OJSC Reinforced concrete structures plant Betfor, Pervouralsky zavod of Reinforced concrete structures “Pervy Betonny”, Reinforced concrete structures Plant in Avtomagistralnaya and others.
