OREANDA-NEWS. On December 19, 2008 a regular sitting of the Council of Entrepreneurs within the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was held during which an issue of activity of permanent Commissions of the Council was considered and a decision to partially reorganize them approved. In particular, a new Commission for Strategy of Economics Development was set up which Ihor Lysytsky chaired.

While discussing propositions in terms of determining principal directions of the Council’s activity in 2009 the need to conceptually outline a future model of Ukrainian economy and to concentrate its activity on questions significant for wide circle of entrepreneurs was stressed. Among such were mentioned raising effectiveness of entrepreneurs’ dialog with authorities, reforming of tax system of Ukraine, introducing of responsibility of authorities’ officials for failing to implement regulatory legislation, forming of middle class.

“One of the main tasks of the Council appears forming of an effective mechanism of cooperation between the business and authorities on grounds of openness and transparency,” the Head of the Council of Entrepreneurs within CMU Oxana Prodan explained. We should introduce this effectiveness through an analysis of those taken into account and the other propositions of the business in the process of adopting of decisions by the authorities, she added.

Another issue concerned was reforming of controlling bodies in the sphere of ecologic control. The need to optimize the system and unite efforts in this direction has been coordinated with Head of State Ecologic Inspection of Ukraine Mykola Kostrov.

The head of the Council addressed all the attendants with a request to do all best to prevent adopting by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in the second reading of draft law №3045 which significantly cuts the rights of entrepreneurs.
