OREANDA-NEWS. December 23, 2008. Enterprises of Uzbekyengilsanoat [Uzbek Light Industry], which unites enterprises of textile industry of Uzbekistan, produced goods for 693 billion soums (about USD 501m) in eleven months of 2008. The growth rate compared to planned volume made up over 25%, reported the Official website www.investuzbekistan.uz.

The export volume comprised USD 365 million in the reporting period.

It should be noted that Uzbekyengilsanoat works on deepened processing of cotton-fiber, produced in the country.

Uzbekyengilsanoat developed a complex of measures on modernization of existing enterprises and launch of new ones. In eleven months of 2008, the industry attracted USD 105.7 million, which helped to launch 20 new enterprises.

Launch of new businesses helped to increase cotton-fiber output by 45,100 tonnes, stockinet by 2,400 tonnes and ready products by 22.85 million tones. It is planned to open several enterprises by the end of 2008.

Uzbekyengilsanoat currently unites of 200 enterprises, including 100 companies with foreign investments.

Companies of Uzbekyengilsanoat exports grew by 1.4 times year-on-year in 2007 and reached to USD 441 million. In the reporting period, the share of ready products made up 34.2% in total produced goods in 2007 and rose by 32.7% compared to 2006.
