OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2008. CJSC Transmashholding and partners are developing the production of small multi-fuel modular transportable power plants designated ED-1000 with the total coefficient of efficiency over 80%, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.

The ability to burn multiple kinds of fuel is one of key features of the power plants. Due to D49 (ChN26/26) diesel-generators developed by Kolomensky Zavod, which are part of the design, the power plants can operate on crude oil, natural or associated gas, and diesel fuel. The practice has shown that this operation mode provides efficient and reliable solutions for emergency electricity and heat supplies depending on the type of fuel at hand, without breaks, loss of power, or malfunctions. The ED-1000 is integrated into one module, which makes it much easier to deliver and prevents complicated pre-launch installation procedures.

ED-1000 has the third type of automation and can operate in various climate zones. It has an updated heat insulation system and a long-stay-warm reserve system, which makes it available for launch without preheating in cold environment. For better effectiveness the unit can be supplied with an exhaust gases and water utilization system on the client’s order. This leads to a total coefficient of efficiency of over 80%, as well as to improved environmental conditions in the exploitation zone.

The first ED-1000 power plant was manufactured by Kolomensky Zavod in the spring of 2008. Following acceptance tests attended by Rostekhnadzor held this August, it was submitted to the customer, the Urals Energy oil company. The power plant is scheduled for launch in the middle of 2009 at the Dulisminskoye field, where the East Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline is being built. The installation site for the unit is being prepared now.

The ED-1000 development, production, supply, and maintenance project is jointly implemented by specialized Russian companies, namely: JSC Konver, JSC Enkol, and JSC Dieselservice.

Kolomensky Zavod has started production of the second ED-1000 power plant. The holding experts on selling products to the small energy industry think the introduction of the new objects into the country electricity system will increase the reliability and steadiness of power supplies, reduce emissions of poisonous and toxic substances, and improve efficiency of energy supplies. The prospective customers for ED-1000 are oil, gas, and energy enterprises, fuel and energy companies, military and municipal units of Siberia and the Far North.
