REANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2008. The Government along with representatives of the baking sector have worked out a number of urgent actions and elaborated a bill on suspending and overcoming the crisis phenomenon in the baking sector. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko told a briefing.

The Head of Government noted that, in accordance with the bill, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine obliges banks to extend credits for baking companies per one year, transfer them from dollar to hryvnia credits and recalculate at the rate of 5.05 hryvnias per dollar. Besides, according to Yulia Tymoshenko, within three days the National Bank of Ukraine has to refinance the banks for three years which extend and recalculate credits for baking companies.

Yulia Tymoshenko informed that this bill should be adopted as soon as possible. That’s why the Government to address today the representatives of all factions to vote this bill in the first, second and final readings by the end of the day.

The Prime Minister also hopes that after the Parliament’s adoption of this bill the President will sign it at once. “If we fail to do it, lack of bread will be direct responsibility of the President because his actions concerning NBU, hryvnia rate is a sin on the President’s conscience, against his country,” Yulia Tymoshenko said.
