OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 December 2008 was announced, that expressing the appreciation for the meeting and underlining the current high level of political dialogue and effective collaboration in different international organizations, Mr. Ambassador noted, that these ties could be good preconditions for developing dynamic trade and economic relations between Armenia and Belarus.

Stepan Sukhorenko informed Mr. Yeritsyan about the main purpose of his visit- which is the preparation of Armenian-Belorussian Intergovernmental joint commission’s regular session for economic cooperation and discussion of organizational questions, as well as the elaboration of specific system for mutual settlement of trade accounts in consideration of current international financial crisis.

Mr. Minister stressed, that Armenia is interested in development of multilateral relations with all neighborly countries and formation of atmosphere of mutual understanding and confidence.

During the meeting the sides touched upon the prospective directions of trade and economic cooperation. Minister of Economy also mentioned that the Belorussian market can serve for Armenia as an intermediate market to European markets.

Talking about probable date of the Session, Minister Yeritsyan proposed the first term of 2009 and noted, that the organization of Armenia-Belorussian business forum or Armenian expo before the Intergovernmental joint commission’s session would be desirable.

At the end of the meeting the sides came to the mutual agreement to bring the Armenian-Belorussian trade and economic relations to a new higher level.
