OREANDA-NEWS. On 30 December 2008 was announced, that Belavia - Belarusian Airlines was entered in the IATA Registry as an Operator compliant with the standards of IOSA – IATA Operational Safety Audit, developed by the International Air Transport Association.

Belavia started its preparation work for the IOSA Audit in 2007. In order to successfully go through the IOSA process the airline improved its corporate management system and implemented the quality assurance system on all levels covering such areas as organization management, flight and cabin operations, dispatch, aviation security, maintenance, ground handling and cargo operations. It also developed the Safety Management System what contributed to overall safety enhancement and safety awareness throughout the entire organization.

According to IOSA standards Belavia is aimed at analysis and prevention of new possible non-conformities. The important aspect of the airline activity is to strengthen control of its goods and services providers what resulted in introducing the audits of suppliers.

IOSA certificate is an international recognition of an airline as a safe Operator using best practices in the sphere of safety management. It gives potential for expansion of cooperation with leading world airlines and simplifies access to markets.

Belavia-Belarusian Airlines, a flag carrier of the Republic of Belarus was established in 1996. It is based at National airport Minsk and has a fleet of 12 aircraft operating scheduled flights to 30 destinations in 19 countries of the world. Today Belavia is the only IOSA operator in Belarus, and one among 214 IOSA operators all over the world.
