OREANDA-NEWS. December 30, 2008. Moscow United Power Grid Company (MUPGC) could receive RUB 10 bn in 2009 as state support as a contribution to its capital, MRSK Holding deputy general director Alexander Chistyakov said. "We requested and the government supports in principle the allocation of some RUB 10 bn to ramp up the concern's capitalization" – he said.

"These funds need to be added to the capital, as the utility concern's leverage is too high. We'd like to take this step along with the issue of additional shares the company mulled with City Hall in the course of asset consolidation" – the top manager emphasized. According to Chistyakov, MRSK Holding has managed to establish "a constructive dialog" with all MRSK shareholders and "City Hall is also prepared to provide support promptly and lend against its guarantees for any transitional period".
