OREANDA-NEWS. On 11 January 2008 was announced, that Sibnet.ru, the biggest regional portal, was a year and a half in December. Sibnet.ru has become the second popular portal in Siberia, with an increasing number of users and unique advertising services.

Sibnet.ru project started on June 21, 2007. The main purpose of the portal at that time was to increase the number of “Sibirtelecom” subscribers of broadband Internet access. Half a year later the user activity showed that the portal is interesting and popular. In this period “Sibirtelecom” rapidly increased sales of broadband access ports, and today we can say that all investments in Sibnet.ru project are repaid.

And we did it.

Today the portal ranks No.2 among Siberian Internet projects. Sibnet.ru exceeded one million hits a day and today has new goals to achieve. “The portal should be the common information space of Siberia, - says Sergey Tachkov, - Next year we plan to provide new services to principal and hard-to-please customers. We have everything required for that and, first of all, a professional team of Sibnet.ru that has been working to increase the content quality, data transmission rate, and to extend the Internet channel.”

The project scaling performed by way of the installation of special servers in regional branches is among achievements of Sibnet.ru. It makes it possible to service great many users of heavy content and to translate video streams. As a result, the average daily number of Sibnet.ru unique visitors increased by 240% this year, while the average daily number of hits - by 170%. Today the portal has over 43,000 unique visitors and about 1.2 mln hits a day.

“At this moment our competitors are no longer local sites but All-Russian projects, such as Rambler, Yandex, and Mail.ru, - says Sergey Tachkov, - They pretend to be leaders on the Internet-market, including the regional market.

To become one of the leading advertising sites of Siberia is a priority current goal of the portal. Sibnet.ru plans to occupy at least 20% of the market in the course of year and to increase its share to 40% in the future. By now Sibnet.ru offers not only the most favorable advertising tariffs but also a possibility to pay for advertisements for made contacts.

The last changes in mass-media communications revealed the main requirement of advertisers: a possibility to determine and compare the efficiency of promotion strategies and different advertising tools.
