OREANDA-NEWS. January 08, 2009. The installed capacity of unit No.2 at Zuyevskaya TPP (Vostokenergo, DTEK) has increased from 300 to 315 MW as a result of the unit’s by-module reconstruction, which took over 6 months. On January 08, 2009, the unit was back in service. The cost of the modernization totalled UAH117.2m., reported the press-centre of SCM.

The turbine, boiler, electric precipitator, complex switchgear, 6 kV electrical equipment and electric driver of raw coal feeders were upgraded in the course of the by-module reconstruction. During the reconstruction, new technological solutions were used in the air-gas channel of the turbine.

In addition to an increase in the installed capacity, the reconstruction of the unit has significantly improved equipment reliability and increased the flexibility range of the unit by 45MW. The reconstruction will also contribute to cutting the electricity production cost at Zuyevskaya TPP by 1.7%, and reducing the consumption of standard fuel by 16 g/kWh. It will extend the service life of the unit by 15 to 25 years.

The companies Turboatom (Kharkov), DonetskEnergoRemont (Donetsk), DEMZ-Engineering (Zaporozhye)   ElektroPromAvtomatika (Kharkov), and the concern Eastern Ukrainian Energy Union of Industrials (VUESP, Kharkov) were the partners of Vostokenergo in the implementation of the project.
