OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2009. Thermal power plants of Dniproenergo, one of the largest energy generating companies of Ukraine, fully stopped to consume the gas used in technological process.

Leonid Zuyev, the Technical Director of Dniproenergo, informed Interfax-Ukraine Agency about this on Saturday.

Few days ago gas was used at the thermal power plants of the company for power units start up.

‘Presently mazut is used for units’ boost up at Pridneprovskaya TPP and units’ star up at all TPPs. Gas consumption is stopped at all TPPs of Dniproenergo starting from 05.01.2009’ said L. Zuyev.

According to him, 8 units with 300 MW capacity and 3 units with 150 MW capacity are in operation at the three plants of the company.

‘Сoal balance at all thermal power plants is 660 thou. tons and is the optimal one based on the conditions of generation capacities availability for operation in autumn and winter’, noted L. Zuyev.

He also assured that the fuel stocks were replenished in due time and no switching to the alternative fuel was planned.

Dniproenergo owns three thermal power plants - Zaporozhskaya, Krivorozhskaya, and Pridneprovskaya with a total installed capacity of 8.185 GW. Upon the results of 2007, the company’s share in the thermal generation market of Ukraine made up 22.57% (9.98% of total Ukrainian generation). In 2007, the revenues of Dniproenergo made up UAH 3.8bn, the net profit was UAH121.9m. The state represented by NJSC Energy Company of Ukraine holds 50%+1 shares in the company, and 46% belongs to DTEK, the rest of shareholders being the minority ones.
