OREANDA-NEWS. January 13, 2009. With the aim to improve savings conditions, Ukio bankas increases interest rates on time deposits in the Litas for both private and corporate clients from 12 January. Annual interest rates on savings and universal deposits also grow, respectively, reported the press-centre of Ukio bankas.

Clients having placed time deposits in the Litas for a 12-month and longer period will receive the highest interest – 10.3 percent. The Bank will pay the annual interest of 9.5 percent on 6-month deposits. Time deposits placed in the Litas for a 3-month period will yield the interest of 9 percent, for one-month period – 8.9 percent in annual interest.

Yet higher interest will be paid on time deposits placed by the system Eta bankas: interest on 1–12 month time deposits grows by 0.1 percent and annual interest on deposits placed for a 12-month and longer term increases by 0.2 percent. A 0.1 percent higher interest will be applied to the participants of the Seniors Program and to the clients who have automatically renewed the concluded 12-month or longer maturity contracts.

Ukio bankas accepts deposits in the Litas, euros, US dollars and pounds sterling. The maximum annual interest rate on deposits placed by private and corporate clients in the Litas reaches 10.3 percent, in US dollars – 6.5 percent, and in euros and pounds sterling – 8 percent.
