OREANDA-NEWS. January 14, 2009. The renovation of Berdskaya electric power substationin Berdsk, Novosibirsk Region, has been completed. The project has been implemented within the framework of Novosibirskenergo Investment Program as per the design provided by SibCOTES.

The substation was commissioned over 50 years ago, and by now its equipment has outlived its usefulness. Design and engineering lasted from January through September 2007. Construction started in April 2008. The engineers from SibCOTES have also provided field supervision during the project implementation.

As designed, two new transformers, 40 МВА each, have been installed. A new 10 kV outdoor switchgear with a PASS MO air-insulated module has been built. The equipment for a 10kV switchgear and a control gear, accumulator storage batteries and DC switchboard sit in a newly constructed two-storey building. The project has made use of the cutting-edge equipment made by both Russian and Western manufacturers.

The renovation of the substation has significantly improved power supply reliability in Berdsk, at the same time providing the possibility to connect new power consumers.
