OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2009. The Government intends to propose a minimal rate of market tax at the level of 0.18 UAH per sq m a day (0.03% from minimal salary) for the second reading of draft law of Ukraine “On local taxes and dues”. The First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Olexandr Turchynov declared.

The current market due for market workers is in force, with the upper limit determined by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On local taxes and dues” of May 20, 1993 (20% of minimal salary, meaning 113 UAH).

If the market due is paid for the area of trading ground, the proposed by the Government market tax shall be taken from administrations of markets for the total area (with passageways, lavatories etc). In such a way the area liable to being paid for by a trader on the market will up. “Taking into account that average ratio of trading area against the total area of the market amounts 50/50 and the fact, that tax rate is proposed to significantly cut, the total sum paid by a concrete worker will reduce as compared to the sums paid by the entrepreneurs now,” O.Turchynov explained.

According to the First Vice Prime Minister, the draft law “On local taxes and dues” submitted by the Government and approved by the Verkhovan Rada in the first reading is called to simplify tax load on entrepreneurs. In particular, the instrument abolishes 10 local taxes and dues, as well as 4 taxes and dues out of the compulsory state ones.
