OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2009. "Air Moldova" airline following the results of 12 months 2008, has transported about 402 000 passengers that on 19 % it is more in comparison with the similar period of 2007, reported the press-centre of Air Moldova.

The greatest growth of a volume of passenger traffic is noted on such directions as Moscow (32 %), London (30 %), Antalya (21 %). Also, in 2008 the volume of passenger traffic on such directions as Frankfurt (8 %), Paris (8 %) Larnaka (6 %) has grown.

More then 25 thousand passengers have been transported on two new destinations, such as St.-Petersburg and Madrid, opened by "Air Moldova" in April, 2008.

For convenience of passengers, in a current of 2008 the airline "Air Moldova" has introduced a number of attractive projects. One of projects, for the Moldavian market of the air transportations, introduced in the beginning of September by "Air Moldova" is the program "Air&Rail" in which frameworks passengers are offered to combine air transportation with the land is unique.

Introduction of the given program there was possible thanks to the conclusion of the bilateral interline-agreement between "Air Moldova" airline and Federal railways of Germany "Deutsche Bahn AG" on which basis "Air Moldova" gives to the passengers arriving to Frankfurt, and also taking off of Frankfurt a possibility to take advantage of transportation on a railway transportation, the airline issued on the air ticket.

Following the results of 4 months, since September and till the end of 2008, of the program "Air&Rail" have taken advantage more than 2 thousand passengers.

Also, "Air Moldova" has signed a number of agreements on cooperation with large foreign airlines that has allowed airline to suggest to the passengers to take advantage of new more attractive conditions of air transportation. So, in 2008 Special Prorate Agreements with German airline "Deutsche Lufthansa AG" and with Russian "Transaero", "Rossya" have been signed Interline agreements "Air Moldova" has signed with airlines "Bulgaria Air", "Uzbekistan Airways", "UTair", "KD avia" and "Georgian National Airlines".

"Air Moldova" carries out flights in 16 direct directions – Frankfurt, Vienna, Bucharest, Istanbul, Lisbon, Madrid, London, Athens, Larnaka, Rome, Milan, Verona, Paris, Prague, Moscow, St.-Petersburg. On a share "Air Moldova" have more than 50 % of air transportations registered on the Moldavian market.
