OREANDA-NEWS. On January 19, 2009 Segodnya newspaper has launched a new social project "Looking for Job with Segodnya" to help the people, which were made redundant during the crisis, reported the press-centre of SCM.

Starting from 19 January, Segodnya will publish a professional overview of labour market vacancies every two weeks. This will be a comprehensive selection of job offers developed specifically for every local edition of the newspaper issued in Kiev, Odessa, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk and Donetsk.

"Being one of the most popular dailies in Ukraine, Segodnya understands the expectations and responsibilities it has to the society. For this reason, we continue implementing our projects of corporate social responsibility", says Guillermo Schmitt, CEO and editorial director of ZAO Segodnya Multimedia. "Looking for Job with Segodnya is the second social project initiated by the newspaper. I believe that topical and applicable information of this project will help many people have a job during this difficult time".

This project will put in the spotlight the most demanded professions in the labour market today. Segodnya journalists will analyze the market information and make an in-depth overview of the offers starting from employment websites through to the information about new companies, which have started hiring or are looking for new employees. Every edition will feature brief hands-on remarks of the journalists that will check and collect information about each vacancy: appeal of the vacancy, salary to be expected by a candidate and challenges he might face when applying.

All issues will provide specific practical advice on the job search process: how to avoid mistakes at interviews, how to submit an application, etc. HR-managers in the leading businesses, psychologists, leaders of recruiting companies and business coaches will share their expertise in the covered areas. Provisional duration of the project is one year.

"A newspaper must fulfil one very important condition. It must be helpful and interesting, as well as give comprehensive answers to all questions of the reader. Our project Looking for Job with Segodnya meets these goals by publishing useful and practical information for the people on the lookout for a job at these challenging times", says Igor Guzhva, editor-in-chief of Segodnya.
