OREANDA-NEWS. On 20 January 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ gross domestic product (GDP) grew 10% on the year in 2008 to 128.8 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with Belarus’ Statistics Ministry told.

Industrial output in January-December amounted to 127.5 trillion rubles, showing a 10.8% increase on the year.

Farm output as of January 1, 2009 stood at 26.9 trillion rubles, up 8.9% on the year in the period.

In 2007, Belarus’ GDP grew 8.1% on the year to 96.048 trillion Belarusian rubles. Industrial output amounted to 91.504 trillion rubles, up 8.5% on the year. Farm output increased 4.1% to 17.932 trillion rubles.
