OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 January 2009 was announced, that Belavia acquired and installed at all check-in counters of the National Airport Minsk special equipment that reads passport data automatically.

This device represents a keyboard that scans passenger published data and enters it automatically into the database.

Check-in staff have had to record passport details by hand so far, now special device built into the keyboard allows to read information in a matter of seconds and avoid any mechanical errors.

Air travel experience of passengers is often overshadowed by exhausting process of documents control at the check-in desk, while modern equipment purchased by Belavia significantly minimizes handling time during check-in and speeds up this process.
