OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 January 2009 was announced, that Russian major grain processor PAVA maintains collaboration with Afghanistan regarding shipments of protein-enriched flour to the Republic. PAVA sees solid potential in continued partnership with Afghan companies – according to the market survey, health value of the flour was acknowledged and highly rated.

The unique production method allows to preserve proteins, macro- and microelements, as well as vitamins B1, B2 and PP, which are easily assimilated by the human body. In smaller amounts, the flour contains fat-soluble vitamin E (tocopherol) and beta-carotene. The balanced content of amino-acids and enhanced fibre strengthen the nervous system, prevent diseases of the cardiovascular system and kidneys.

Notably, the Afghan consumers are satisfied with the grinding quality which suits for baking the national bread. The price issue was also significant for Afghan partners. It is much lower compared to the cost of traditional high-grade and first-grade flour.

The combination of these factors gives ground to consider working with PAVA in the line of purchasing protein-enriched flour as an effective step towards food security problem in the Republic.
