OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 January 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ fruit and vegetable juice imports decreased 24.3% on the year in January-November 2008 to 41,594 tonnes worth USD 45.061 million, up 17% on the year in monetary terms, the Statistics Ministry told.

Russian juice imports were down 24.5% on the year to 19,919 tonnes, which cost USD 19.619 million, an increase of 12%.

Imports from Ukraine decreased 46.1% on the year in January-November 2008 to 9,423 tonnes worth USD 7.297 million, a decline of 20.8%. Imports from Azerbaijan went down 20% to 1,146 tonnes, which cost Belarus USD 700,000, down 28.1%.

The main non-CIS suppliers were Israel with 4,941 tonnes, up 100%, worth USD 9.467 million, up 100%, and Latvia with 1,683 tonnes, down 33.6%, worth USD1.244 million, down 32.2%.
