OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2009. Government sees no grounds to increase gas tariffs for the population. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko told press conference summing up the Gov’t sitting.

“The National Commission for Regulating Power Industry sets prices for the population. But the Government considers, there are no grounds to increase prices for the people,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.

Besides, the Head of Government emphasized that gas price for the Ukrainian consumers in 2009 would amount to 228.8 dollars per one thousand cubic meters. The PM noted that despite various talks on this subject, the gas price for Ukrainian consumers would not be higher.

“Whatever is said, accounts to all consumers will be at the price of 228.8 dollars. Accounts evidence such price for the consumers,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.
