OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2009. In 2008, Pavlogradugol incorporated into DTEK allocated over UAH 3 million for the implementation of programmes contributing to the improvement of the quality of life for the population of three towns and two districts in Dnepropetrovsk Region, reported the press-centre of SCM.

In March 2008, a long-term Social Partnership Declaration was signed between DTEK, Pavlogradugol and the authorities of Pavlograd city, Ternovka and Pershotravensk towns. For the first time, two districts, Pavlogradskiy and Petropavlovskiy, also joined the programme.

According to the Declaration, over UAH 3 million were allocated by DTEK and Pavlogradugol for the implementation of the social programmes of Pavlogradugol, Ternovka, Pershotravensk, as well as Pavlogradskiy and Petropavlovskiy districts. This more than doubles the amount provided for these purposes in 2007.

Using the funds allocated within the framework of the Social Partnership Declaration, Pavlograd carried out refurbishment in the premises of the children's service of the municipal hospital no.1, as well as purchased some modern computer and multimedia equipment for town schools. In Ternovka, the building of the Children’s Creativity Centre underwent a major overhaul. In Pershotravensk, the implementation of the ‘Solid Household Waste Collection, Transportation, Recycling and Disposal Programme’ continued.

Within its framework the town bought waste containers meeting European standards for separate waste collection. Pavlogradskiy district spent the funds provided by DTEK and Pavlogradugol on the procurement of a mobile digital photofluorograph. The nourishment facilities of twelve schools in Petropavlovskiy district were supplied with electric cookers, and the central district hospital obtained a photofluorograph and electric cooker as well.

‘We realize that the labour efficiency of our employees to a great extent depends on the quality of medical service at local healthcare institutions, on the level of their confidence that their children receive a full-fledged education and nourishment at school and well-organized leisure activities outside school. That is why our social partnership with the towns and districts where our enterprises are located is one of the priority activities for us, which we plan to further develop in 2009’, said the Director of Social Development of Pavlogradugol, Oleg Portretniy.
