OREANDA-NEWS. On January 20-21, 2009 in Druskininkai the 1st newly formed Lithuanian and Belarus transit transport working group meeting is taking place, where transport ministers of both countries are going to sign a protocol, reported the press-centre of Klaipeda State Seaport.
 
The Belarus side is headed by the Minister of Transport and Communication of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Sosnovskij. Belarus delegation which consists of the representatives of Ministry of Transport and Communication of the Republic of Belarus, Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Lithuania, Belarus railways, Customs Committee, Belarus Oil Company, potassium fertilizers producer company „Belaruskalij“ and other industrial companies are going to have meetings in Druskininkai for 2 days.
 
Lithuanian side is headed by the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania Eligijus Masiulis. Lithuanian delegation consists of the representatives of the ministries of Transport and Communications and Foreign affairs, AB „Lietuvos gelezinkeliai“, Association of Lithuanian Stevedoring Companies and heads of Klaipeda port companies. Director General Sigitas Dobilinskas will represent SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority.
 
Lithuanian and Belarus transit transport working group meeting is taking place in January 20-21 2009 in Druskininkai and during the meetings on communications between both countries will be discussed there as well as the future plans. The questions connected with the transportation of cargo by container-con-trailer train „Viking“ and increase of transportation volumes of Belarus cargo via Klaipeda port as well as conditions, customs procedures and cooperation in air transport field. The creation of common transit system between Lithuania and Belarus will be discussed at the meeting too. 
 
After the meeting of transit transport working group, the heads of delegations of Lithuania and Belarus will sign a protocol concerning cooperation in transport and transit fields.
