OREANDA-NEWS. On January 26, 2009 Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko informed that Ukraine had exported 1.2mln tons of grain crop in January this year. She stated at a meeting with heads of regional state administrations and their deputies on issues of supporting the agro-industrial sector.

“Already in January we’ve succeeded – exported 1 mln 200 tons. You know, in January, as a rule, it was not exported. These are new phenomena for us,” the Prime Minister said, adding that resumption of the world market for agricultural products is a summons for agro-industrial complex of Ukraine.

At the same time Yulia Tymoshenko expressed hope for efficient preparations of the spring-field works. “The fact that export has been renewed with progressive outturn, undoubtedly, gives us hope to be well-prepared for the spring-field works”.

The Prime Minister also said, against the previous marketing year export of grain crops and oil crops had been increased twofold. “It means that we are progressing with colossal dynamics of filling both exchange reserves of the country and exchange balance of the country and in that case agrarians have helped Ukraine today,” Yulia Tymoshenko noted.
