OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2009. Cherkizovo OJSC (LSE: CHE), one of Russia’s leading integrated and diversified meat producers, participates in the annual international food and agricultural exhibition Green Week-2009 in Berlin, reported the press-centre of Cherkizovo OJSC.

The International Green Week in Berlin (Internationale Grune Woche 2009) is a unique food industry and agriculture exhibition which has been held since 1926.

Russia has been taking part in the event for 15 years, presenting modern agricultural technologies, investment opportunities and Russia’s premium products. The Russian part of the exhibition traditionally occupies a separate 6,000 sq m pavilion, where 23 regions of the Russian Federation are represented.

Cherkizovo Group has been participating in the Green Week since 2003. The Group’s products have been awarded gold medals for quality on several occasions.

This year Cherkizovo’s products are represented on the stand of the Department of Food Resources of Moscow. Sample tastings take place at the event, namely of the Five Stars and Cherkizovsky trademarks, which are well-known to consumers.

In 2009 the event was visited for the first time by the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

A variety of food products are represented at the event, ranging from meat and processed delis to fruit and vegetables, from beverages to hard liquors, as well as seeds, agricultural equipment and machinery.

The event hosts sales, show rooms, seminars, forums and roundtables. Around half a million people visit the fair every year, including representatives of the food industry, traders, importers and exporters.
