OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 February 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies’ output last year increased 8.6% to 3.766 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in 2008, an official with the Statistics Ministry told.

Wood procurement increased 1.4% to 2.877 million solid cubic meters, lumber output rose 5.4% to 1.056 million cubic meters, and plywood production went down 4.6% to 160,900 cubic meters.

Fiberboard output increased 3.8% year-on-year to 57.8 million equivalent square meters, and chip wood board production went up 8.2% to 442,700 equivalent cubic meters.

Furniture output increased 18.6% to 1.442 trillion rubles in monetary terms.

Paper output went down 3% to 48,600 tonnes, wallpaper output edged down 0.1% to 113.8 million equivalent pieces, and cardboard output increased 4% to 258,900 tonnes.
