OREANDA-NEWS. February 02, 2009. SOGAZ Insurance Group has signed a property insurance contract with OJSC Concern Energoatom (prior to incorporation – FSUE Concern Rosenergoatom), reported the press-centre of SOGAZ.

SOGAZ Insurance Group has signed a property insurance contract with OJSC Concern Energoatom (prior to incorporation – FSUE Concern Rosenergoatom).

Pursuant to the contract terms, SOGAZ will provide insurance coverage for the equipment (reactor) owned by the company (“all risks liability”).

The insurer’s aggregate liability is limited to RUR 30.6 billion, with a policy period being of one year.

It is not the first time SOGAZ Insurance Group has entered into insurance partnership with OJSC Concern Energoatom. Thus, according to Vadim Yanov, Chairman of the Board of SOGAZ Insurance Group, SOGAZ insured the property of ten NPPs worth RUR 116 billion in 2008. In addition, SOGAZ Insurance Group and OJSC Concern Energoatom have been closely collaborating on personal insurance since April 2006.

OJSC Concern Energoatom was incorporated in 1992. The company currently consists of all ten Russian NPPs, which operate 31 power units with a total installed capacity of 23,242 MW, seven NPPs under construction, and six other affiliates.
