OREANDA-NEWS. On 05 February 2009 was announced, that the area of Izmaylovo tourist and hotel complex located in east Moscow is to be enlarged from 330,500 sq m to 483,200 sq m. The development concept was approved by the public council for urban development of Moscow on January 30.

“The concept enables to increase the complex capacity and convenience,” Moscow Head Architect Aleksandr Kuzmin said.

The official noted the concept provided for developing new infrastructure facilities near the existent ones and, at the same time, preserving the visual environment of the group of hotel buildings.

According to Mr Kuzmin, the complex management asked to increase a number of buildings from 4 to 5 and to enlarge the recreation zone - to create conference rooms, concerts halls, restaurants and other facilities.

It is also stipulated by the concept to raise a mixed-use recreation centre, a public and business centre, Alfa Park multipurpose complex and an 11-storey apart-hotel designed to comprise 190 rooms. All of buildings will be equipped with underground car parks, due to which a number of parking places will go up from 588 to 2,023.

A number of hotel rooms in Izmaylovo will rise from 4,860 to 5,050, the area of business premises and offices – from 3,800 sq m to 26,300 sq m, the area of objects of culture – from 7,250 sq m to 18,250 sq m.

The sports and recreation facilities will occupy roughly 20,000 sq m instead of today’s 2,500 sq m, the retail outlets and consumer services – over 18,000 sq m instead of 3,200 sq m.

Moscow City Mayor Yuri Luzhkov agrees to adopt the concept on the assumption that there will be enough parking places for the guests of Izmaylovo and its staff and a special attention will be paid to the planting of greenery in the area.
