OREANDA-NEWS. February 6, 2009. In Jan 2009 the nuclear power plants of Energoatom Concern OJSC generated 13.8bln KWh or 90.2% of the output of Jan 2008.

The plants with WWER reactors produced 7.5bln KWh, the plants with RBMK, BN and EGP reactors – 6.3bln KWh.

Thus, in Jan 2009 the Russian NPPs fulfilled 92.3% of their electricity production plan.

The capacity factor was 79.9%.

In Jan 2009 the Russian NPPs operated safely and efficiently with no above “O” INES incidents registered.

The 10 nuclear power plants of Russia operate 31 reactors with a total capacity of 23,242MW: 15 WWER reactors (9 WWER-1000, 6 WWER-440), 15 RBMK reactors (11 RBMK-1000 and 4 EGP-6), 1 fast-breeder reactor. The Russian NPPs produce 16% of total energy in Russia.
