OREANDA-NEWS. February 12, 2009. In accord with Article 44 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition", the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against "Omsk Cheese Spread Plant [Omsky Zavod Plavlenykh Syrov]" Ltd. for violating Part 2 Article 14 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The case was initiated upon a petition of "VIMIN Tatarstan" OJSC. According to the petitioner, "Omsk Cheese Spread Plant" Ltd. was engaged in unfair competition by unfair acquiring and using exclusive rights for the "Omichka" verbal trademark under No.251966 Certificate.

"VIMIN Tatarstan" OJSC and "Omsk Cheese Spread Plant" Ltd. specialize on production and distribution of cheese spreads in the Russian Federation, therefore these market agents are competitors.

By acquiring and using the "Omichka" verbal trademark, "Omsk Cheese Spread Plant" Ltd. can gain entrepreneurial advantages and inflict damages upon "VIMIN Tatarstan" OJSC.

The case will be heard on 23rd March 2009.
