OREANDA-NEWS. February 12, 2009. The participants of the regular joint seminar arranged by OJSC ROSNO-MS and the Higher School of Economics have discussed the Strategy of Healthcare Development till 2020, prepared by the RF Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

This meeting venue started to be regularly used in 2008. The seminar participants usually discuss a broad range of issues related to the RF healthcare reforms. The seminar materials are published in the media.

The seminar focused on the economic aspects of the Healthcare Development Strategy, which will determine the situation in the entire industry for the next ten years. Among the speakers were Professor Veronika Skvortsova, Deputy Minister of Healthcare and Social Development and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Medical Science, and Mr. Vladimir Zelensky, director of the Medical Insurance Development Department in the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development.

Also, the event was attended by over 80 experts from various sectors: representatives of the medical community, insurers, economic scientists, and patients’ rights protectors. During the active discussion held after the speeches, Ms. Larisa Popovich, First Deputy CEO/COO of OJSC ROSNO-MS, noted that the "transition to drug insurance for all private individuals participating in the OMI system is impossible while we have no reference prices for drugs and no state pricing control".
