According to the National Bureau of Statistics, it is 42,8% more than in the previous year, followed by: machinery and equipment, electrical equipment, audio-video equipment - 15,6% for US 765.5 million (+40.6%), chemical products - 8,5% for US 416.8 million (+31.2 %), transport - 8% for US 390.7 million (+36.6%), non-precious metals and articles- 7,6% for US 372.6 million (+10.7%), food products, beverages and tobacco - 7% for US 343.4 million (+44.4%), plastic goods and rubber - 5,7% for US 276.8 million (+23.1%), products of vegetable origin - 3,4 % fo US 166.7 million (+10.9%), stone, plaster, cement, ceramics and glass - 2.8% for US 138.7 million (+35.8%), wood products, paper and cardboard- 2,4% for US 117.2 million (+15.6%), animal and stock-raising products - 2,1% for US 100.4 million (+62.7%), wood - 1,8% for US 89.3 million (+32%), optical instruments, photographic, cinematographic, medical and surgical equipment and musical instruments - 1.5% for \\$ 74.6 million (+44% ).

These 14 product groups accounted for 95.2% of the total import to Moldova.

In 2008, the total volume of Moldovan import amounted to US 4 billion 898.9 million.
