OREANDA-NEWS. On 16 February 2009 was announced, that Sweden’s Hennes & Mauritz, Europe’s second-biggest clothing retailer, is to set up its first outlets in Moscow. H&M stores will be open in Mega-Khimki and Metropolis retail and entertainment centres at Leningradskoe Highway in spring 2009.

Hennes & Mauritz was earlier announced to set up its outlets in all of Megas, however, today only one to be open in Khimki is being prepared. Besides, H&M stores are to be included in River Mall and Zolotoy Vavilon-Rostokino shopping centres which are currently under construction.

H&M is the pioneer of “fast fashion” using young designers to bring high fashion clothes into high-street stores as quickly and cheaply as possible. The Swedish fashion chain opened 214 new outlets around the world in 2007-2008, compared with 193 a year earlier.
