OREANDA-NEWS. On 16 February 2009 was announced, that ITERA Oil and Gas Company confirmed all items of the cooperation agreement with the Government of the Sverdlovsk region, including the investment program, would be fulfilled immaculately despite the world financial crisis. This decision was announced in the meeting Victor Koksharov, Chairman of the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region, and Igor Makarov, President of ITERA, had on January 30.

According to the Governor's Information Policy Department, ITERA expected to supply up to 20 billion cu m of natural gas to the Sverdlovsk Region territory in 2009.

Moreover, ITERA confirmed it was interested to upgrade the municipal power engineering industry in the region, to create the regional thermal power company, to upgrade boiler-houses and heat pipe-lines. It is going to implement this plan thanks to a loan to be raised from the Bank for Foreign Economic Activity. The Loan Committee of the Bank will look into the matter within a few days to come.

ITERA's investment in implementation the Single Thermal Power Company project in the Sverdlovsk Region alone is to make about Rub 4 billion in the next three years. This will allow a number of municipalities to put in order and to upgrade the existing boiler-houses, to equip them with a modern energy-saving equipment, to upgrade the system of heat pipelines.

During a working meeting, ITERA confirmed it was ready to implement large investment projects. In fact, an idea was to implement a project of methanol production, the largest gas-chemistry complex on deep processing of gas into products of organic chemistry. The project is to be based on Uralchimplast plant in Nizhni Tagil. Besides, despite the crisis, ITERA shall continue implementing the investment project in Vyiski Woodworking Combine. It will create a wood-processing plant at the territory of the Turin match factory, and construct housing in the area of VIS-Pravoberezhny in the region. These developments had been agreed with leaders of the independent gas company in advance.
