OREANDA-NEWS  On 17 February was announced, that FAS Russia and "Delovaya Rossia (Business Russia)" All-Russia Non-Governmental Organization met to discuss countermeasures against illegal, competition-restrictive collusions.

At the meeting, the parties talked about the need to intensify cartel control in the period of economic crisis, primarily focusing on price collusions. They also looked over forthcoming changes in the work of FAS Russia related to adoption of the "second antimonopoly package" and the amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, and discussed the role of industry associations and unions in developing healthy competitive environment.

Summing up the discussion, Nikolay Ostarkov, the Managing Director of "Delovaya Rossia" suggested FAS Russia and "Delovaya Rossia" must further intensify their cooperation. This position was supported by Alexander Kinev, the Head of the FAS Russia's Cartel Department. He said: "We will be able to act efficiently and to the benefit of the national economy and Russian society only obtaining information about unlawful actions of competitors directly from entrepreneurs and business associations, and working on those problems that today are most pressing for them".
