OREANDA-NEWS On 18 February 2009 was announced, that Mirax Group Corporation is to ask Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov for permission to undertake the completion of suspended development of the Russia Tower located within Moskva-City international business centre.

Development of the Russia Tower was reported earlier to be completed in 2016, compared with initially scheduled 2012. Besides, according to some mass media, it was supposed to reduce the tower’s height with the aim of decreasing investment in the project.
“We offer City Hall to develop the Russia Tower in the former parameters. We have consulted with the investors and envisage how to do it,” Mirax Group chairman Sergey Polonsky told journalists on February 11.

According to the official, Mirax Group is ready to purchase a share of the project owner Shalva Chigirinsky for the price he has offered Sibir Energy before, USD 48.5 million.

At the same time Mr Polonsky said the corporation wasn’t in talks with Mr Chigirinsky because uppermost it needed City Hall’s permission. “We led negotiations with Mr Chigirinsky a year and a half ago, however, we haven’t made any progress,” the chairman of Mirax Group noted.

Mr Polonsky added that becoming the Russia Tower project owner Mirax Group would also solve the problem of a shortage of parking facilities for its own projects within Moskva-City.
