OREANDA-NEWS  On 24 February was announced, that till February 27, representatives of business circles and travel companies of the Pomorze voivodeship of Poland will visit the Gomel oblast to get familiar with the economic and tourist potential of the Belarusian region. The visit will be held at the invitation of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.

The Polish delegation will be led by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the town of Wejherowo Leszek Glaza. During the talks, the Pomorze businessmen and their Belarusian partners will discuss the establishment of direct contacts in the tourist area, recuperation and health resort treatment and also the implementation of a number of investment projects including the creation of tourist infrastructure in the Gomel oblast.

The Polish guests will get familiar with tourist itineraries of the Gomel oblast, tourist and historical facilities, places of interest. They are expected to visit Gomel, Vetka, Zhlobin, Kostiukovichi, Lyaskovichi, Mozyr, Turov, the Rogachev region, Yurovichi and the Pripyatski National Reserve. The Polish delegation will have talks with the leadership of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee.

According to Ruslan Yesin, Consul General of Belarus to Gdansk noted, “The visit of the Pomorze businessmen to Gomel, the participation of Gomel tour operators in the Gdansk International Tourist Exhibition in 2008 gave an impetus to the cooperation between the Pomorze voivodeship and the Gomel oblast”. According to him, the current visit of the Pomorze delegation will grow the interest in recuperation and health resort treatment in Belarus.
