OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 February 2009 was announced, that Raiffeisen Bank Aval has been ranked among the world most valuable banking brands within the rating BrandFinance Global Banking 500.

The rating of the financial value of banking brands has been published by the international company Brand Finance in the cooperation with the reputable edition The Banker since 2006. This year, Ukraine’s banking sector has been firstly represented in the TOP- 500 rating by Raiffeisen Bank Aval ranking 373 and Ukrsotsbank ranking 473.

To form the rating, analysts of Brand Finance have analyzed three different blocks of information on each bank, what helped to assess various aspects of their performance: the financial position of the company-brandholder, its capitalization degree and development forecasts for the near five years; data on the local market and the bank’s position in the competitive environment; information on the target audiences.

The top three leaders of this year BrandFinance Global Banking 500 rating are: the British HSBC and the American Bank of America and Wells Fargo.

Raiffeisen Bank Aval, founded in March 1992, is one of the largest Ukrainian banks in terms of a number of core parameters. The bank’s total assets amounted to almost UAH 52.6 billion as at 1 October 2008, up 18 percent on the full year 2007, making it the number two on the local market (all the data are given according to the Ukrainian national accounting standards).
