OREANDA-NEWS. On 27 February 2009 JSC SITRONICS (“SITRONICS” or “The Company”) (LSE: SITR), a leading provider of telecommunications, IT and microelectronic solutions in Russia and the CIS, announced that it has signed a two year agreement with MTS Uzbekistan, a daughter company of Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), and the largest mobile operator in Uzbekistan and the Central Asian countries, to supply a MEDIO IN/OCS convergent services platform, for a total consideration of more than USD  18 million.

SITRONICS will commence the construction of the new platform for MTS Uzbekistan during the first quarter of 2009, and expects the project to be completed in March 2010.

The transition to a new convergent services platform will allow MTS Uzbekistan to introduce a scalable billing solution, which will support the growth of the subscriber base to up to 10 million customers, and will facilitate a high quality service for all of its active subscribers.

The MEDIO IN/OCS convergent services platform will allow the operator to deploy an on-line tariff calculation for its services, thus practically excluding the origination of any accounts receivables from its clients, and will significantly broaden the spectrum of additional services offered to subscribers.

Pavel Pavlovsky, Vice-President of SITRONICS and Head of SITRONICS’ Telecommunications Solutions Division, commented: “The agreement is a fundamental step in the further development of our business and relationship with MTS, and serves as an excellent example of cooperation between our two companies. MTS Uzbekistan has already deployed the FORIS OSS billing system. The MEDIO IN/OCS is the first automated billing system of this scale to be introduced with one of the largest mobile operators in Central Asia. The system will allow MTS Uzbekistan to increase its competitive advantages, and will provide its customers with a single access point to all services within the MTS network.”
