OREANDA-NEWS. On 04 March 2009 was announced, that The local authorities of Moscow’s northern administrative district are to erect more than 370,000 square metres of new housing and demolish over 280,000 square metres of dilapidated homes within the district in 2009.

“32 dwelling houses with the total area of more than 370,000 square metres are to be erected within the district. It is also planned to proceed with the implementation of the program aimed at taking down the dilapidated housing in northern Moscow – 65 residential buildings with the total area of over 280,000 square metres are to be demolished,” a press service of the district said.

The program aimed at reconstructing five-storey and dilapidated residential buildings located in northern Moscow stipulated that 338 houses were to be demolished in 2008, however, only 223 of them have been taken down by now.

“The rest of them are to be demolished by the end of 2010. Most of such buildings are located in Beskudnikovo, Levoberezhnoe and Khovrino townships,” the press service noted.

The builders erected 31 dwelling houses with the total area of more than half a million square metres in northern Moscow last year. 13 new educational facilities, including 8 kindergartens, 2 schools and a new building for the military boarding school, are to be raised within the district in 2009.
