OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2009. EuRoPol GAZ Supervisory Board held a regular meeting today in Warsaw under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Director General of Gazprom export Alexander Medvedev.

From the Russian side the meeting was attended by Member of the Gazprom Management Committee, Head of the Legal Department Nikolai Dubik and Head of the International Business Department Stanislav Tsygankov. The Polish side was represented by the PGNiG President of the Management Board Michal Szubski and the Management Board Vice Presidents Miroslaw Dobrut, Slawomir Hinc, and Radoslaw Dudzinski.

The meeting considered the joint venture operations. In particular, the parties discussed the submission of a 2009 tariff request on EuRoPol GAZ services for natural gas transportation across Poland, the completion of Yamal – Europe’s fiber-optic communications line in Poland as well as other issues of the current business activities.

It was agreed to hold the next meeting of EuRoPol GAZ Supervisory Board in Gdansk.

In the framework of the visit Alexander Medvedev also had a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Poland Waldemar Pawlak to discuss the bilateral cooperation in the gas industry.

Background:

Poland’s annual gas consumption is about 13.7 billion cubic meters, with around 30 per cent produced domestically. In 2007 Gazprom export supplied Poland with some 6.98 billion cubic meters of Russian gas.

Joint-Stock Company EuRoPol GAZ Transit Gas Pipeline System was founded in September 1993. The company was created within the Intergovernmental Agreement on the construction of a gas pipeline system for the Russian gas transit through Poland and Russian gas deliveries to Poland, dated August 25, 1993. EuRoPol GAZ basic activity guidelines comprise engineering, construction and operation of the Polish section of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline.

EuRoPol GAZ owns 684 kilometers of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline on the Polish territory as well as five compressor stations. The annual throughput capacity of the pipeline is close to 30 billion cubic meters, provided simultaneous operation of the five compressor stations.

Gazprom and PGNiG SA are the main shareholders of EuRoPol GAZ.
