OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2009. This academic year the Gomel branch of the International Institute of Labor and Social Relations (IILSR) admits students to train for qualification of “Logistics”.

The International Institute of Labor and Social Relations will be the second higher educational establishment in Belarus after the Belarusian State Economic University which will train logisticians. According to Valeriy Reshetko, a new qualification is demanded by the needs of the national economy. In the near future logistics centres are to become the business subdivision of any Belarusian company. The global economic tendencies demonstrate that much depends on a logistician. He has to manage company’s flows of materials and information, establish good public relations and possess business acumen.

An applicant for logistics qualification will have to pass successfully centralized tests in mathematics, Russian and foreign languages. Full-time attendance is four years long, distance learning – five years. The teaching staff has been already formed. Professors of the International Logistics Association from Italy also will come to Gomel to give lectures for future Belarusian logisticians. An educational book on logistics is planned to be issued in the nearest future. The text edition will be written by Gomel, Minsk and Moscow professors.
