OREANDA-NEWS. On 12 March 2009 was announced, that Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov opened Rio retail and entertainment centre within a traditional Saturday examination of the urban building sites.

The object has been developed on 163A Dmitrovskoe Shosse under the decree issued by Moscow’s city government. Its area works out at 220,000 square metres.

Rio is leased by more than 500 companies in various sectors. Over 3,000 jobs were created within the mall. Besides, it will comprise Cinema Star eight-screen multiplex, Fun City entertainment centre for children, a bowling club and a food court.

There is also an amphitheatre designed to host entertainments and concerts in Rio. A multilevel car park for 4,000 vehicles is located in the area adjacent to the mixed-use centre.

The mall is friendly to physically challenged people – it is equipped with moving sidewalks, spacious lifts and WCs which can be used by people in wheel-chairs, the car park includes a special area for disabled access.
