OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2009. On the suggestion of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant has started drafting a Code of Business Ethics – rules of behavior for regulating business and human relationships inside the team as well as relations with external organizations and their employees.

The relevant working group is chaired by Director of Novovoronezh NPP Vladimir Povarov, which indicates that the plant has shown very serious approach to Rosatom’s initiative.

Many companies worldwide and in Russia already have such rules and this has gained them high reputation in the business world.

The working group has placed information about the code on the web-site of the plant, has carried out a survey among different categories of employees so as to know what problems there are inside the team and is presently discussing the draft code with the staff.

It should be noted that Novovoronezh NPP has been chosen by Rosatom as pilot site for this project. And this is not a coincidence: Novovoronezh NPP is one of the oldest nuclear power plants of our country: this year it is marking its 45th birthday. Naturally, the plant has huge experience not only of technical operation but also in the field of human relations.

The key objective of the Code of Business Ethics is to introduce corporate ethical standards and rules and, subsequently, to develop and improve business and human relations at Novovoronezh NPP. This will certainly help to improve the efficiency and safety of the plant.
