OREANDA-NEWS. On March 16-19, 2009 Lithuanian national delegation participates in the annual biggest cruise shipping exhibition and conference „Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention 2009“ in Miami (USA) for the sixth time, reported the press-centre of Klaipeda port.

Klaipeda city, port and business companies will present Lithuania in the national stand (area 18 m2): SE Klaipeda State Seaport Authority, PE Klaipeda tourism and culture information centre, UAB „Limarko juru agentura“, UAB „Klaipedos Meja“ and AB „Klaipedos laivu remontas“.
 
The exhibition „Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention“, attracting more than 11 thousand visitors and about 1000 exponents from more than 117 countries, is going to celebrate its 25th jubilee. The conference which is taking place during the exhibition the topical cruise business matters will be discussed, among them – the future of cruise shipping and challenges during economic recession period, ship building and ship designing, services rendered on a ship and ship technologies.
 
Lithuanian national stand will reflect marine and folklore topics, the visitors will see innovations of cruise services in Klaipeda port, excursion routes for cruise passengers and infrastructure. The members of the delegation have prepared new publications, souvenirs and Lithuanian national treat, dedicated specially for this exhibition.
 
The main goal of participation in „Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention 2009“  - is to induce cruise shipping in Klaipeda port, revealing the attractiveness of Klaipeda region to the cruise lines, travel agencies and potential passengers by informing them about new services for tourists, Klaipeda port infrastructure and discounts in port dues for cruise ships.
 
Preliminary in 2009 63 cruise liners are going to come to Klaipeda city - port and about 40 000 cruise passengers. This year big cruise liners (more than 200 m length) are going to come to the port  - and there will be more than 22 of them Besides, in 2009 8 cruise vessels will come to the port for the first time. The coming 2009 cruise shipping season, comparing to the season of 2008, is especially exuberant taking into consideration the slowing down world economics.
