OREANDA-NEWS. On 18 March 2009 was announced, that the large investment project of IES-Holding on the development of generating capacities at Perm CGP-13 comes to its final stage by the power plant Anniversary.

Perm CGP-13 of Generation Urals Division of IES-Holding located on right-bank part of Perm in the Gayva Microdistrict. The power plant provides power supply to many industrial and social enterprises in Perm and centralized heating to the Gayva Microdistrict. At present the installed capacity of the plant comprises 18 MW of power and 332.2 Gcal of heat.

The operating history of Perm CGP-13 started in 1959. In 2004 the transition of all boilers of Perm CGP-13 to gas fuel was completed. That significantly improved ecological performance indicators of the plant and increased efficiency of power generation. As of today the main fuel used by the plant is gas and reserve fuel - black oil. In 2004 simultaneously with the transition to gas the automated process control system for boiler units was introduced at Perm CGP-13. It was the first experience of automated process control system introduction in the Perm Power System. In 2008 the automated process control system for boiler units and boiler equipment at Perm CGP-13 was modernized and new up-to-date equipment was installed.

At present Perm CGP-13 is being continuously developed as part of IES-Holding. The investment project on installation of new GTU-16 PA gas turbine unit comes to the final stage. The installed gas turbine unit was produced in Perm at OJSC Aviadvigatel (Aircraft Engines). Thus the investment project not only increases the power capacity of the Perm Region but also contributes to the development of national power-plant engineering industry.

By virtue of implementation of this project by IES-Holding the installed electric capacity of the power plant will increase from 18 to 34 MW. The introduction into service of gas turbine unit with heat utilization will allow increasing of electric power output more than twofold. Heat capacity of the installed machinery comprises 18 Gcal/h. Characteristics of the unit allow its operation up to 8,000 hours per year and coverage of base (summer) heat loads of hot water supply with maximum possible power co-generation.

As of today the new GTU and all related infrastructure has been already installed. The commissioning is implemented now, including testing of all connections, power transmission lines, gas turbine control nodes - generally approximately several thousand pieces of equipment. After that a series of trial starts of the GTU in different operating modes and run-in-test of the new turbo machine is planned.
